Plans 02:37
I've had my eye on you for a long long time And I want to know You followed all my moves and always smiled When you waved hello I've got plans for you and you've got plans for me Let's take a shot and make this thing reality Life's a strange highway It goes on and on I want to grow You took the middle seat and slid right over At a bend in the road I've got plans for you And you've got plans for me Let's take a shot And make this thing reality (break) I've got plans for you and you've got plans for me Let's take a shot And make this thing reality I've got plans for you and you've got plans for me let's take a jump and make this thing eternity

A100 03:04
I got this unfinished song from Mitch And the file was named A50 The chords were fun and although undone The central riff was nifty But with all else being well The BPM felt slow as hell So I doubled the speed and then decreed I’d better double up the name as well (From A50 to A100) And I didn’t know what an A100 was But I figured it must be something And lo and behold it’s a road that goes Adjacent to the Tower of London It goes south across the Thames It goes another half mile and then It takes a bend at St. Mary Magdalen Before running into the A2 where it ends Yeah but there something else you should know If you ever decide to go Never ask a local bout the A100 ‘cause nobody’s gonna know Although it’s officially bestowed By transit aficionados To get around flag a cabbie down and say take me down to Tower Bridge Road And I didn’t know what an A100 was But I figured it must be something And lo and behold it’s a road that goes Adjacent to the Tower of London It goes south across the Thames It goes another half mile and then It takes a bend at St. Mary Magdalen Before running into the A2 where it ends

There’s a sign on this highway That says turn for beach ahead But I’ve got conference calls And bullet points instead I see the face of the clock I’m at a desk but I’m not sure that it’s my chair I hear the tick and the tock I am here but wonder if I should be there The hand is sweeping around I’m in meeting but not sure if I belong It passes without a sound I’m in a meeting but I think this room is wrong Six-minute increments I record my life Who will bill my final moments On the day I die Six! There’s a rhythm to this you see The minute hand on the clock There’s no time for tomfoolery Or else you will get docked It’s efficient, it’s efficient, it’s standardized It’s the only thing you can do When you’ve got an enterprise And you need revenue Looks like the freeway is slow We’re all here until they plow the parking lot It’s 27 below We’re all here until the day comes that we’re not It isn’t anything new We’re all here until the next flip of the coin But then it’s something to do We’re all here on hold till the organizer joins Six-minute increments I record my life Who will bill my final moments On the day I die Six-minute increments (We’re entering time)

Tell me what you know I'll tell you want I don't Tell where hearts go I know where mine won't We are living in a wondrous world That's all there ever Is but it.s ennough You're waiting all the time But I won't wait on mine You say you must have faith I say its all a waste We are living in a wondrous world That's all there ever is but it's enough Don't you know you're the oyster and the pearl in the shell Does it even matter If there's a heaven or a hell It's all just as well Cuz it all comes down to you and me or eternity We are living in a wondrous world That's all there ever is but its enough (Is it enough?)

Come see though the window pane The gentleman sits slumped and pale Does somebody know his name Does someone know where goes his rail route There won’t be a new campaign No smoke-filled rooms in which to work it Got caught playing with the trains And sentenced to the lecture circuit now It’s snowing And blowing and cruel Minnesota cold Schuyler Colfax Has his ticket home Once second in command He now rules over hotel blankets Once speaker to all the land He now speaks to midwestern banquet halls And that’s all It’s snowing And blowing and cruel Minnesota cold Schuyler Colfax Has his ticket It’s snowing And blowing and cruel Minnesota cold Schuyler Colfax Has his ticket Has his ticket home

Washing 03:34
I'm not the way you'd thought i'd be I'm not so firm Shine a light It goes right through And then take a turn You're washing away All my sins You're washing away But I'm getting in I wrapped a towel around my head sunlight in the world Give the baseman a second look before dashing for third You're washing away All my sins You're washing away But I'm getting in

Got some time Maybe two-three hours Leave the grime of the city towers Get away the place will be ours Spend the day on the rocks at Marblehead The place is settled thickly There’s no way to get there quickly I don’t mind long as you share with me What you find on the rocks at Marblehead Watching your hair in the wind I’d like to come back here again With you The sea and the waves and the foam We don’t get this at home And the sky is a big blue dome You and I on the rocks at Marblehead

I got 22 loose pages from 2004 (Let if go, let it flow) I got an old blank sketchbook in the back of the drawer (Let if go, let it flow) I got a few stray chords on my iPhone 4 (Let if go, let it flow) I got a view from the edge of my very own dance floor (Let if go, let it flow) And I’m setting it all out for curbside pickup I’m setting it out for curbside pickup I had a great big idea that got left on the floor (Let if go, let it flow) I had great big thought I don’t think anymore (Let if go, let it flow) And you know what It’s all going out for curbside pickup It’s all going out for curbside pickup

Is today Just another day Will there be Another thing to say Can I go A little bit astray And frolic and detour Curse the doubt Break the protocol Cast it out The boring and banal From Tapley Hall To Apex and Saint Paul We all frolic and detour Frolic and detour

Life is such a highway Now I'm running away from you You showed me too much love babe And I didn't know what to do You were as hot as the summer You were as cool as the rain I lost all my composure When you walked in the room again And said We've got tonight We're feeling alright Didn't take no for an answer Didn't take all of my lies You showed me too much love babe And it really opened my eyes Cuz you were colors of the rainbow You were as bright as the moon I forget my own name babe When you walk into the room And said We've got tonight We're feeling tonight Babe you may be too much to handle But I'm going to give it a go I don't think you know how to be gentle Will I see you tomorrow? And said We've got tonight We're feeling alright

I'm staring at this dartboard It don't look that hard But the points add up to nothing So why even start You say its something and i didn't even know there was this way to go this way to me Staring at this hand of cards That's been dealt to me You don't choose the queen of hearts I'll bluff for eternity You say its something and i didn't even know there was this way to go this way to me

I’m an astronaut, this world is all my cup Get on my escalator, ‘cause it only goes up Let’s pick up baggage and treasure in like amounts Then give them all away, ‘cause nothing really counts I learned to validate Pay taxes for my license plates Play music almost every day And go astray Maybe I never had second sight Maybe I should’ve picked a few more fights Maybe I was wrong but maybe I was right I’ve got trademark issues but I’ll be all right Maybe I never had second sight Maybe I should’ve picked a few more fights Maybe I was wrong but maybe I was right I’ve got trademark issues but I’ll be all right I’m a polyglot, my words are blowing up A leading indicator, I’m on the Stanley Cup Let’s mix up damage and pleasure in Swiss accounts Then live just for today, or something thereabouts I learned to fabricate Took matches to the paper chase Got stupid drunk on Beaujolais And got away Maybe I never lit the pilot light Maybe I should’ve got the levels right Maybe I was wrong but maybe I was right I’ve got trademark issues but I’ll be all right Maybe I never lit the pilot light Maybe I should’ve got the levels right Maybe I was wrong but maybe I was right I’ve got trademark issues but I’ll be all right (Hey, time for an instrumental break? What, you mean like we each take a channel? Yeah!) Play music every day and go astray Play music every day and go astray Maybe we never had second sight Maybe we should’ve picked a few more fights Maybe we were wrong but maybe we were right We’ve got trademark issues and we’ll be all right Maybe we never lit the pilot light Maybe we should’ve got the levels right Maybe we were wrong but maybe we were right We’ve got trademark issues and we’ll be all right
